Traditionally, when in the Philippines the whole clan, or should I say the whole nation, is camping out tonight at the cemetery.

Creepy? No. It's actually kind of fun as this holiday eventually serves as an opportunity to have family reunions and friends get together. Yes, in the cemetery.

Filipino tradition for the All Saints Day and All Souls Day consists of visiting the graves of their love ones, buying tons of candles and flowers, picnic and photo ops after a series of prayers and novenas of course. Back when I was young =) I used to look forward to this night as it's a chance to see and be seen. It's like a big Lovapalooza on the graveyard.

Nothing but fun fun fun on Halloween!

Now that I'm still here in the Philippines, I would've love to visit my father and join the crowd in General Santos but my brothers are here in Davao and the budget does not permit all of us to go home. We've decided to stay here, cook spaghetti, attend mass tomorrow to pray for my father's soul in heaven and watch a marathon of back to back to back blood and gore.

=> Hostel 1 and 2
=> Pulse 1 and 2
=> BloodRayne
=> House of Wax 1 and 2
=> The Evil Dead 1 and 2
=> Army of Darkness
=> Boogeyman 1 and 2
=> House on Haunted Hill 1 and 2

and my all time favorite

=> Nightmare on Elm Street 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6!

After all, we do need to celebrate Halloween, All Saints Day and All Souls Day in Pinoy style.

Which is family togetherness and not scaring the shit out of each other.
